We recently had the pleasure of working on a stunning kitchen project for a customer in the beautiful county of Powys, Wales. This bespoke installation featured Cimstone Olympus 20mm quartz worktops, chosen for their elegant aesthetics, durability, and ability to enhance the overall look of the space.

Olympus Quartz Worktops Project Overview

The project required the installation of both perimeter worktops and a central island worktop, bringing cohesion and functionality to the kitchen layout. The worktops were custom-designed and fabricated to fit seamlessly into the room, with precise attention to detail from templating to installation.

Here’s a breakdown of what made this installation unique:

Material: Cimstone Olympus Quartz

The customer opted for Cimstone Olympus quartz, a material that is celebrated for its delicate white tone with subtle marbling. Its timeless appeal complements perfectly both classic and modern kitchen designs. The quartz’s 20mm thickness offers a sleek, minimalist profile while maintaining the resilience required for a high-traffic kitchen.

Features and Finishes

  • Edge Profile: A single chamfer edge profile was selected to add a clean and understated finish to the worktops.
  • Upstands: We incorporated 100mm upstands along the perimeter to protect the walls while enhancing the design’s cohesive flow.
  • Polished Cutouts: The sink area featured a precise polished sink cutout, along with a tap hole for a streamlined installation.
  • Hob Cutout: A custom hob cutout was included, ensuring a perfect fit and flush integration with the cooking area.
  • Walk-in Larder: A small but elegant worktop was also installed in the customer’s walk-in larder, extending the functional workspace with a seamless aesthetic.

The Process

  1. Initial Consultation and Templating
During our consultation, the customer emphasized the importance of a light, open look that maintained functionality. We completed a detailed templating process to ensure all worktops, cutouts, and edges would align perfectly with the bespoke cabinetry and appliances.
  2. Fabrication
Back at our workshop, the Cimstone Olympus slabs were cut, polished, and finished to the exact specifications. Special care was taken to ensure every detail, from the chamfer edge to the cutouts, matched the customer’s vision.
  3. Installation
Our team expertly installed the perimeter worktops, the central island, and the larder worktop. The polished finish of the Cimstone Olympus quartz reflected light beautifully, enhancing the spacious feel of the kitchen. Every element was securely fitted and carefully aligned, ensuring the final look was flawless.
