Silestone worktops are high-performance, low-silica mineral surfaces crafted using Cosentino’s proprietary Hybriq+® technology. This innovative approach mixes premium minerals with recycled materials, significantly reducing the use of crystalline silica, which is a big win for sustainable manufacturing practices.

Unlike granite, marble, and other worktop materials, Silestone quartz doesn’t need any sealing or special cleaners—just a bit of mild soap and water to keep it looking spick and span for decades. It comes in a stunning range of colours and textures, giving you unlimited options to design the kitchen or workspace of your dreams.

With a cheeky 25-year warranty, Silestone quartz worktops deliver outstanding beauty with minimal lifetime maintenance. For worktops that impress and perform, there’s simply no substitute.

Silestone Worktop Features

If you’re on the hunt for a kitchen worktop that’s tougher than a rugby player and more beautiful than a supermodel, then Silestone is the way to go. Crafted from quartz, one of Mother Nature’s hardest minerals, these worktops are the bee’s knees when it comes to your kitchen:

Silestone bathroom vanities, sinks and washbasins offer seamless design opportunities

Non-Porous Surface

Silestone’s dense, non-porous surface is like a bouncer at a nightclub – it won’t let any pesky liquids penetrate the stone. This means you can say cheerio to stains and hello to a worktop that’s as easy to clean as a whistle. Just give it a quick wipe-down with some soap and water, and you’re good to go. No need for any fancy cleaners or sealants.

Highly Durable

When it comes to durability, it’s the Chuck Norris of worktops. It can take a beating from scratches, stains, and impacts without breaking a sweat. This makes it the perfect choice for your kitchen countertops. Plus, with its commitment to sustainability, you can rest easy knowing that your Silestone worktop will keep its good looks and functionality for years to come.

Wear Resistant

Thanks to its high quartz content, Silestone is like a superhero when it comes to resisting wear and tear. With a Mohs hardness rating of 7, quartz is one tough cookie. So, whether you’re slicing and dicing like a master chef or kneading dough like a baking pro, your Silestone worktop will stay looking pristine.

Vibrant, Colour-Stable Finish

Silestone worktops are like a chameleon – they can match any design aesthetic you throw at them. But unlike a chameleon, they won’t change their colours over time. The dense, non-porous surface prevents staining or fading, so your worktop will keep its factory-fresh look for years to come. And with a range of colours and textures to choose from – from sleek marble to rugged concrete – you’re sure to find the perfect match for your style.

Silestone Worktop FAQs

Silestone worktops are relatively expensive in comparison with cheaper options like laminate worktops. Silestone worktops are made from quartz, which is a higher-cost raw material. However, the benefits far outweigh the additional cost, offering you an excellent investment for your home’s long-lasting, visually appealing and durable kitchen worktop.

Yes, Silestone worktops are heat-resistant. They are made from a natural quartz that is extremely strong and durable. This means that they can withstand high temperatures without being damaged.

However, We recommend using a trivet between boiling pans and the worktop surface since frequent exposure to very high temperatures can cause some degradation over time.

No, Silestone can’t be used outside unless it is covered, out of direct sunlight and shielded from severe weather such as rain and frost. The product is made for interior applications and isn’t suited to outdoors.

If you want a better outdoor product, choose Dekton, Neolith or Porcelain. These products are UV-resistant and thermal shockproof, and they won’t dull or degrade over time as much as quartz, which Silestone is made from.

Yes. Silestone worktops come with a 25-year warranty. You can find out more about the 25-year warranty on all Silestone worktops supplied by MGD here: Silestone warranty

While both are excellent materials for kitchen worktops, customers choose Silestone worktops because they are more durable and non-porous and don’t need sealing like granite often does.

Granite is a 100% natural product; many customers love it because it has a unique feel. No two worktops are the same. Conversely, Silestone is patterned to a more familiar design across multiple slabs.

General cleaning should be done with the avoidance of chemicals and abrasives. Regular cleaning with soap and warm water will suffice, and a rinse with clean water afterwards.

Silestone worktops are incredibly hard-wearing and non-porous and are made from an engineered quartz material, whereas marble is much softer, more porous, and needs much maintenance to keep in good shape.

From a total cost of ownership, we believe that marble isn’t suitable for use as a kitchen worktop. It’s better for use in bathroom worktops (aka bathroom vanities), cladding, and tiling projects. Marble can also be used outside, making it ideal for external cladding projects.

Silestone quartz worktops are available in marble-effect colours that simulate the beauty of natural marble, giving you an option for use in the kitchen.
